But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
When we worship our God, there’s literally nothing more natural. It’s what we were made for. That means the things that happen through our worship… when His presence fills us, when we’re consumed by His love and transformed, the renewing of our minds, the restoration of our hearts, and a freeing of the enslaved; it’s just supernatural that belongs in what we should consider natural to us. Worship isn’t something we should do- it’s crucial. His presence is a must, just like food, water, and air.
“Worship is so simple and yet people don’t stretch their minds to understand there is so much of the Holy Spirit left open to experience. When God’s presence is lifted high- exalted and magnified; He can’t help but pour out His love and when the Holy Spirit covers the room in such a tangible way. I mean really, that builds our personal relationship with our God to newer, higher levels. That’s what I want. Every time I put a guitar strap around my neck, or even just get in my car to listen to my favorite worship stuff, God has an encounter in mind. That to me – is mind-blowing and It reminds me why worship is simply just what I love to do. Over the last year, I’ve come up with a saying.. an understanding. There is nothing inside of me, nothing I can do – that can do justice to the praise, and the glory, and the honor that God deserves…. But I’m going to try.” Pastor Griff Deffner
